1- Climate Change:
The most important issue faced by people worldwide is the rapid change in the climate. It's a defining issue. We are at a defining moment from moving patterns of weather that threaten food production on farmlands to rising sea levels that increase the risk of catastrophic flooding. The impacts of climate change are global in scope and unprecedented in scale. The intergovernmental panel on climate change said in its fifth report that temperatures have risen by 0.85 Celsius between 1880 to 2012. It is predicted that the temperature will increase by 4.8 Celsius by 2100. Oceans have warmed the amount of snow and ice has diminished and the sea levels are rising. We are going to experience more heatwaves and finally, the ice in the Arctic will finish off at last. We must decarbonize large swaths of economic shifts as financial flows protect ecosystems and adapt for the future.
2- Pollution
Number two, is pollution. Pollution can take many forms such as:
the air we breathe,
the water we drink,
the soil we use to grow our food,
the lit-up skies and
even with the increasing sounds we hear daily,
can all contribute to health problems in a lower quality of life with major disruptions and effects on wildlife and ecosystems. Environmental pollution is causing grave and irreparable damage to the natural world in human society with about forty deaths worldwide being caused by water, air, soil, and noise pollution. By the middle of the 20th century, an awareness of the need to protect air, water, and land environments from pollution had developed among the general public. Major pieces of environmental legislation were passed in many countries to control it. Pollution is one of the most difficult issues to combat as everything comes under the umbrella of pollution.
3- Lack of education
Children are the key to success and they are the future of our world yet many children across the world do not have some of their most basic needs fulfilled. UNICEF says that every child has a right to get primary education but it does not seem so. The lack of primary education tells us that most poor children are deprived of going to school. The international community has made considerable progress in providing education to every child helping everyone reach his/her destination. Now, more than 72 million children in the world are not going to school. This can be attributed to poverty and inequality. This issue is not limited to children who are not going to school. Even when children are attending school the quality of their education might be poor and educational capacity or resources may be limited. The interesting development of children in studies is also considered important. It was once estimated that approximately, 600 million children are not mastering Mathematics or literacy at school. Schools should contact different organizations that provide proper tools and resources to aid schools.
4- Unemployment:
Next comes unemployment for many people. What is unemployment???
Ans: It is an economic condition in which individuals seeking jobs remain unhired. When you are unhired you are unable to earn money.
An unemployed person starts facing a lot of problems as he resins from his job. As he is unable to earn money, he is unable to feed himself and your family so your basic necessities remain unfilled without the necessary education and skills for employment. Many people aged 15 to 24 years old struggle to find jobs and create a proper living for themselves. The main reasons for unemployment are an increase in population, slow economic growth, seasonal occupation, fall in the cottage industry. The COVID-19 pandemic is also a considerable reason as lockdown in many countries resulted in the shut down of trade industries.
5- Food security
The number of hungry people in the world has increased a lot over the past few years. Now, one in nine people in the world go hungry each day and suffer from nutritional deficiencies as a result. The problem is not that we are not producing enough food but it is that of people lacking access to food. As a result of poverty, many people in the world do not have enough money to purchase food or grow it on their own. According to the world food program, countries with the highest level of food insecurity also have the highest outward migration of refugees. Approximately, 11% of the world is undernourished and 39% of the adult population is overweight. Some of us are eating someone else's part in the food.
6- Health issues:
After that comes the health issues. It is correlated to food insecurity is when people do not eat the specific amount of food required, they suffer from various health issues such as malnutrition and deficiencies like Anemia. Besides these diseases, there are many other issues affecting health on a global scale. For example, today, we are in the midst of a global pandemic COVID-19 which has infected more than 40 million people worldwide and resulted in total of 1 million deaths in the past. The main issue to focus on in this point were communicable diseases like Malaria, Hepatitis, HIV, aids, Influenza, and tuberculosis. Teaching good hygiene practices is beneficial but the importance of good nutritional education and preventing personal harm is now needed to be emphasized. Low-income countries lack emergency response resources so it paves the way for many diseases.
7- Substance abuse or mental health:
Dealing with substance abuse, drug addiction, and alcoholism is never easy. It's always difficult to work to get rid of these nasty and filthy drugs. It could also be done with medicines like pain killers or anxiety pills. Tobacco, for example, is very harmful to your lungs or brain. Once you get addicted to it, it gets hard to get rid of it. The same is the case with other drugs like alcohol, caffeine, cocaine, and other harmful solvents. Both rich and poor people take part in substance abuse and it is essential to finish these things from the world. It is a persistent issue and campaigns and projects are in progress to end this issue. Drugs, whether taken in small amounts, always disturb our mental and physical health. Certain illegal drugs can cause people to experience one or more symptoms of bad mental health. Substance abuse can lead to significant problems such as failure to attend a job or school, mental disorders, harmful diseases like cancer and HIV, and also using the substance in dangerous moments Symptoms like taking in an increased amount of drugs, with drawl from social or recreational activities and spending a lot of time to recover from effects of using a drug shows that you are doing substance abuse with a drug.
8- Nation conflicts and peace:
The year marks the 11th anniversary of the war in Syria and the 5th in Yemen. Venezuela may very well become the source of the world's largest and underfunded refugee crisis. The Kashmir crisis between Pakistan and India is still there. Lethal violence and violent crime are on the rise, affecting growing cities in an urbanizing world and the risk of interstate conflicts and geopolitical strife has taken place. According to the 2021 Global Humanitarian Report, one out of 45 people on this planet will need help and protection next year. we should try to make peace and prosperity with each other.

9- Gender Equality:
Inequality is at the heart of many of the gravest issues the global community is facing including the development of gender. It is clear from our actions that men and women are not equal in today's life. In matters of education, job or marriage this is an important concern. It is a more common issue in illiterate people. Gender equality is not only a fundamental right but also a necessary foundation for a prosperous and sustainable world. Discriminatory laws and social norms remain pervasive and women continue to be underrepresented at all levels of political leadership. Some women are even restricted to receive a proper education. Women play an important role in the country's economy. As a result of school closures and the increased need for older people, women's unpaid care work has increased.
10- Water scarcity
Water is a great blessing. It covers 70 percent of our mother earth and it is easy to think that it will remain plentiful forever however the amount of freshwater that we use in drinking,. bathing or irrigation is only 3%!! Two-thirds of this freshwater is tucked away in frozen glaciers. 1.1 billion people around the world lack access to water. There is not a global water shortage as such, but individual countries and nations urgently need to tackle the critical problems., presented by water stress. With so many current issues that require attention and actions. It is easy to get discouraged however the amount of progress that organizations have made is admirable.
