mostly occurring daily to someone, i.e. High Blood Pressure or Hypertension
If talking about the definition then hypertension is another name for blood pressure. Blood
pressure is the force that the person exerts on the walls of his blood vessels. This pressure depends on the resistance of blood vessels and how hard the heart has to work. It is a serious medical condition leading to heart diseases and strokes and sometimes death. Only normal blood pressure between 90/60 and 120/80 is not harmful. Blood pressure lower than 90/60 is referred to Hypotension and higher than 120/80 could be a great hazard to your health.
Hypertension can arise due to various factors including;
1- Blood plasma volume
2- Taking unhealthy diets
3- Environmental factors such as taking stress and lack of exercise
4- Kidney and diabetes diseases
5- Obesity
6- Alcohol and tobacco use
7- Family history
A person with hypertension can have no symptoms at all. . Without detection, it can damage the
heart, blood vessels and the kidneys too. If you have a hypertensive crisis, you can experience
nose bleeding and severe headaches. Hypertension could do a lot damage to our body. It can lead to failure of heart in which the heart stops pumping blood into the blood vessels or irregular heart beat which could lead to a sudden death. In addition, it could also cause kidney damage and chest pain. Here are some tips used to manage and prevent hypertension.
Prevention and management:
1- Take a healthy diet with high potassium and low salt intake
2- Exercise regularly.
3- Avoid using tobacco and alcohol
4- Reduce the stress level
5- Treating with medications
6- Managing body weight
7- Regularly checking blood pressure
